Polly Blake was born in Paris and studied Fine Art at both Winchester and Brighton Universities. Now an award-winning artist, her work is in numerous private collections, and been exhibited widely since the nineteen nineties.

The paintings of Polly Blake blur the boundaries between the abstract and figurative form, evoking emotional complexities that sit uncomfortably within traditional notions of the real and imagined landscape. Exploring themes of the literal and existential in this way exudes an ambiguous and often eerie calm, oscillating between the sublime, and a strange and dark hinterland. Within this construct lies the juxtaposition of light and dark, real and imagined, abstract and figurative, that transposes the viewer from one of mere aesthetics into a hauntingly beautiful parable of abstract dissemination.
